- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 4 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 cups Domino® Golden Sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 2 cups unsalted butter, room temperature
- 8 cups Domino® Powdered Sugar
- 2 tsp almond extract
- 3–5 tbsp heavy whipping cream
- Salt, to taste
- Red and blue gel icing color
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with cupcake liners.
- In one bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy; add eggs one at a time and mix in milk gradually.
- Pour batter into liners and bake for 18-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
- Beat softened butter, gradually adding powdered sugar to make frosting, then add almond extract and cream to reach desired consistency.
- Frost cooled cupcakes with white buttercream, then decorate using piping bags filled with red and blue icing to create an American flag design.
