  • 1 lb fresh broccoli (cut into florets)
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger (grated)
  • 2 tsp garlic (grated)
  • 6 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 3 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1.5 Tbsp corn starch
  • 2 Tbsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare white rice according to package instructions.
  2. Freeze flank steak for 30 minutes, then thinly slice against the grain.
  3. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, corn starch, ginger, garlic, black pepper, and sesame oil to create the sauce.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium heat and sauté broccoli for 4-5 minutes until bright green.
  5. Increase heat to high, add remaining oil, and sauté beef strips for about 2 minutes per side until cooked through.
  6. Reduce heat to medium-low and pour the sauce over the beef; simmer for 3-4 minutes until thickened. Stir in broccoli and combine well.
