- 1/2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 large yellow onion (finely diced)
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 8 slices medium cheddar cheese
- 6 oz shredded medium cheddar cheese
- 24 dinner rolls
- 2 Tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 Tbsp sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and butter a rimmed baking sheet.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil. Add diced onion and ground beef; break apart as it browns. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder until cooked through.
- Drain excess fat and mix in mayonnaise until well combined.
- Cut dinner rolls in half and place bottoms on the baking sheet. Layer with sliced cheese, spread beef mixture evenly, top with shredded cheese, and cover with roll tops.
- Brush with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
