Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lb lean ground beef (90/10 or 93/7 fat content)
  • 1/2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 large yellow onion (finely diced)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 8 slices medium cheddar cheese
  • 6 oz shredded medium cheddar cheese
  • 24 dinner rolls
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 Tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and butter a rimmed baking sheet.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil. Add diced onion and ground beef; break apart as it browns. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder until cooked through.
  3. Drain excess fat and mix in mayonnaise until well combined.
  4. Cut dinner rolls in half and place bottoms on the baking sheet. Layer with sliced cheese, spread beef mixture evenly, top with shredded cheese, and cover with roll tops.
