- 2 lbs ground beef (80/20)
- 2 medium onions (diced)
- 4 garlic cloves (minced)
- 2 cans diced tomatoes (14.5 oz each)
- 1 can kidney beans (15 oz, drained and rinsed)
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 cups beef broth or beer
- 3 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- In a large pot over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink.
- Add diced onions and minced garlic; sauté until onions are translucent (about 5 minutes).
- Stir in chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, pepper, and cayenne; cook for about 1 minute.
