  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
  • 1/2 cup (125g) 2% Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup (180g) mini chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups (330g) unsalted butter, room temp
  • 5 cups (550g) powdered sugar
  • 1 cup (130g) all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup (140g) light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup (90g) mini chocolate chips
  • 4 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 4 oz (1/2 cup) heavy cream
  • 23 tsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare three 8-inch round cake pans by greasing them and lining with parchment.
  2. For the cookie dough, cream butter and sugars until fluffy, then add milk and vanilla. Gradually mix in flour and salt, fold in chocolate chips, and chill.
  3. For the vanilla cake, cream butter and sugar until light, add eggs one at a time with vanilla. Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with milk and yogurt to wet mixture.
  4. Pour batter into pans, drop spoonfuls of chilled cookie dough on top, and bake for about 30 minutes.
  5. Prepare the cookie dough buttercream by creaming butter, adding sugars, flour, milk, vanilla, and salt; mix until smooth.
  6. Assemble the cake by layering cake rounds with cookie dough frosting in between.
  7. Prepare chocolate ganache by heating cream and pouring over chopped chocolate; stir until smooth then drizzle over frosted cake.
