Description

Creamy Smothered Chicken and Rice is the ultimate comfort food that combines tender, juicy chicken with a rich garlic-Parmesan cream sauce over fluffy rice.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or 4 chicken thighs)
  • 1 cup white or brown rice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese
  • Garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the rice in a medium saucepan according to package instructions. Set aside.
  2. Season chicken with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear chicken in olive oil and butter for about 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from pan.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onions in butter until softened. Add minced garlic and cook briefly before adding chicken broth. Stir in cream, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; let simmer until thickened.
  4. Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over it. Cover and simmer for 5–7 minutes until fully cooked.
  5. Serve over cooked rice and garnish with fresh parsley.
