  • 75g yogurt
  • 700g chicken thighs
  • 50g grated cheese
  • 225ml water
  • 8g salt
  • 10g instant yeast
  • 15g honey
  • 35ml sunflower oil
  • 40g butter
  • 1 egg
  • 25ml olive oil
  • 5g salt (for seasoning)
  • 3g cayenne powder (for a kick)
  • 2g coriander powder
  • 3g garlic powder
  • 3g onion powder
  • 3g red bell pepper powder
  • 2g cumin powder
  • 100g Algerienne sauce
  • 20g sweet soy sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, yeast, yogurt, honey, sunflower oil, and lukewarm water. Knead for about 10-12 minutes until smooth. Let rise for an hour.
  2. Roll the dough into two circles. Brush one with melted butter and sprinkle cheese on top before layering with the second circle. Cut into triangles.
  3. Roll each triangle into crescent shapes and place on a parchment-lined baking tray. Brush with egg wash and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F) and bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Meanwhile, cook the chicken in olive oil with spices until golden brown; mix with sauces before filling crescents.
