- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 8 oz linguine or fettuccine noodles
- 4 tsp fresh grated ginger
- 6 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup low-sodium beef broth
- 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 4 green onions (sliced)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef for about 5 minutes. Add grated ginger and minced garlic during the last 2 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook the noodles in salted boiling water until al dente; drain and set aside.
- Remove excess fat from the skillet and stir in brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
- Whisk cornstarch with water to create a slurry; add to the skillet and simmer until thickened (2-3 minutes).
- Toss cooked noodles into the skillet until well coated in the sauce; let sit for an additional 2-3 minutes before serving.
