Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 8 oz linguine or fettuccine noodles
  • 4 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 6 cloves minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 4 green onions (sliced)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes. Add ginger and garlic during the last two minutes.
  2. Cook the noodles in boiling water according to package instructions until al dente; drain.
  3. Once the beef is browned, drain excess fat and add brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes; stir well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk cornstarch with water to create a slurry and add it to the skillet; simmer until thickened.
  5. Toss cooked noodles with the beef mixture in the skillet until evenly coated; let sit for a few minutes to absorb flavors.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions.
