  • ½ green cabbage, shredded
  • 2 carrots, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • ⅔ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 16 oz spaghetti (1 pound box)
  • 3 ½ cups water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large pot over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Sauté the shredded cabbage and carrots for about 5 minutes until tender.
  2. Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, mustard, ginger, and garlic. Mix well.
  3. Add spaghetti (breaking it in half if desired) and pour in water.
  4. Cook uncovered for 15-18 minutes, stirring occasionally until the noodles are cooked through.
  5. Remove from heat and toss in sesame seeds before serving.
