Instructions

  3. In a separate bowl, combine pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter (or oil), and vanilla. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. Spread the batter in an 8-inch casserole dish.
  5. In another bowl, mix remaining sugar with chopped pecans; sprinkle evenly over the batter.
  6. Carefully pour hot water over the entire dish—do not stir.
