Description

Shepherd’s Pie is the ultimate comfort food that combines flavorful ground beef, fresh vegetables, and creamy mashed potatoes into a hearty meal perfect for family dinners or cozy gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds potatoes
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 2 cups frozen peas, carrots, and corn medley
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ to ½ cup milk
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary
  • ½ teaspoon thyme
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Boil peeled potatoes until fork-tender; drain.
  3. Mash potatoes with butter, sour cream, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. In a skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef with diced onions and minced garlic; drain excess grease.
  5. Add frozen vegetables and cook for 5-7 minutes.
  6. Stir in flour, then add beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, rosemary, thyme, and bay leaf; simmer for about 10 minutes.
  7. Spread meat mixture in a greased 9×13 baking dish; top with mashed potatoes.
  8. Bake for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
