  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes (14.5 oz each)
  • 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 cans kidney beans (15 oz each), drained and rinsed
  • 1 can pinto beans (15 oz), drained and rinsed
  • 23 tbsp chili powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare ingredients by dicing the onion and bell pepper, mincing the garlic, and rinsing the beans.
  2. In a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat, brown the ground meat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the meat; sauté for about 5 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes (with juices), tomato sauce, and beef broth. Mix well.
  5. Incorporate kidney beans and pinto beans gently without mashing them.
  6. Season with chili powder, salt, and pepper; stir to combine.
  7. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to low; simmer uncovered for 45 minutes to an hour, stirring occasionally.
