- 2 lbs ground beef or turkey
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced

- 2 cans diced tomatoes (14.5 oz each)
- 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 cans kidney beans (15 oz each), drained and rinsed
- 1 can pinto beans (15 oz), drained and rinsed
- 2–3 tbsp chili powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare ingredients by dicing the onion and bell pepper, mincing the garlic, and rinsing the beans.
- In a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat, brown the ground meat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
- Add diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the meat; sauté for about 5 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes (with juices), tomato sauce, and beef broth. Mix well.
- Incorporate kidney beans and pinto beans gently without mashing them.
- Season with chili powder, salt, and pepper; stir to combine.
- Bring to a boil then reduce heat to low; simmer uncovered for 45 minutes to an hour, stirring occasionally.
