Ingredients

Scale
  • 5060 wonton wrappers
  • 200g ground pork
  • 200g raw shrimp (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 2 green onions (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Chinese cooking wine
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 2 garlic cloves (smashed)
  • 1-inch ginger slice
  • 1 1/2 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Chinese cooking wine
  • 1/41/2 tsp sesame oil
  • Shredded green onions (for serving)
  • Bok choy or noodles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the wonton filling by mixing ground pork, chopped shrimp, grated ginger, green onions, soy sauce, cooking wine, salt, and sesame oil in a bowl. Mash until fairly smooth.
  2. Lay out wonton wrappers and place a small amount of filling in the center of each. Moisten edges with water, fold to seal tightly.
  3. Boil water in a large pot. Cook wontons for about 4 minutes until they float; remove with a slotted spoon.
  4. In a separate saucepan, combine broth ingredients and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  5. Serve by placing cooked wontons in bowls and ladling hot broth over them. Top with shredded green onions.
