  • 1 ¼ lbs Italian sausage
  • 1 (24-oz) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 2 (8-oz) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 (24-oz) container cottage cheese
  • 1 (8-oz) block cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 Tbsp dried parsley
  • 1 lb mozzarella cheese slices
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375ºF. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions until al dente.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the Italian sausage over medium heat until fully cooked; drain excess fat. Stir in spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese, softened cream cheese, sour cream, beaten egg, and dried parsley until smooth.
  4. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer meat sauce at the bottom, followed by noodles, half of the cheese mixture, and mozzarella slices. Repeat layering with remaining ingredients and finish with grated parmesan on top.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; uncover and bake an additional 30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown. Let it rest for 15 minutes before serving.
