- 450 grams ground beef
- 450 grams ground pork sausage
- 12 medium shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 4 cups cooked white rice
- 480 milliliters chicken broth
- 1.5 cups mixed onions and bell peppers (finely chopped)
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
- 1/4 cup plain flour
- 1 teaspoon seafood seasoning
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 3 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
- 0.5 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Toss shrimp with seafood seasoning; set aside.
- Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat; cook shrimp for 2–3 minutes per side until opaque. Remove from skillet.
- Add remaining oil to the same skillet; brown the ground beef and sausage until fully cooked.
- Stir in chopped onions, bell peppers, and minced garlic; cook until softened.
- Mix in flour and spices; pour in chicken broth while scraping up browned bits.
- Bring to simmer for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Fold in cooked rice; simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Add shrimp back into the skillet; mix gently and season to taste before serving hot.
