- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
- 4 brioche buns
- Kosher salt and ground black pepper
- Optional toppings: American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise
Instructions
- Preheat a cast iron griddle or skillet over medium-high heat for 2 minutes. Lightly brush the surface with oil.
- Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the beef portions on the hot surface and smash them down with a spatula to form patties. Cook for about 2 minutes until a crust forms, then flip and add cheese. Cook for an additional 1.5 to 2 minutes until melted.
- Meanwhile, spread softened butter on the cut sides of the brioche buns and toast them butter-side down in another skillet until golden brown.
- Assemble by placing the cooked patties on the toasted buns and adding your favorite toppings.
